Certificate of Equivalent Competency (UKLAP) Information

The Notice of Assessment (NOA) issued by the MCA will state which examinations applicants require to take. The MCA will send applicants explanatory notes which state the procedures to be followed, the appropriate fees and a list of examination centres.

Useful information

Arranging exams - takes at least 3 weeks from the date SQA receives your complete NOA along with payment.

Cost to sit the UKLAP exam is currently £260 (as of August 2023).

SQA should be contacted in the first instance, please do not contact the Centre directly to arrange these examinations.

Candidates should be familiar with the syllabus prior to sitting the examination.
